JUNIOR ELECTRICAL STANDARDS ENGINEER - JACKSONVILLE, FL
Purpose of Position
Purpose of Position:
Support the Product engineering team in planning, development, testing, implementation and co-ordination of related activities involving low and medium voltage products for Customer orders.
Under guidance of the Senior Electrical Standards Engineer, perform a variety of engineering assignments requiring knowledge in basic programming and the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Assignments typically require the use of advanced and innovative techniques; proactively seek and implement initiatives to improve operations and increase customer satisfaction.
Essential Functions:
- Design and develop complex models or simulations, apply advanced computer programs, analytical techniques and/or control strategies to effectively meet requirements and resolve problems using the required CAD Tools.
- Contributes in creating and maintaining Quality Assurance Procedures and work instructions related to engineering software and products.
- Prepares projects status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions. Continuously keeps KPI statistics.
- Review of existing design to insure products meet applicable standards.
- Prepare test plans and make arrangement for testing of existing engineering software and products.
- SQL database configuration.
- VBA creation and update using spreadsheets in MS Excel.
- Data entry.
- XML files creation, editing and review.
- Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Education and Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience designing LV/MV Switchgear or Related Products
- BSEE or equivalent in progress
- Working knowledge of Applicable ANSI/IEEE standards and certifications is preferred.
- Advanced working knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
- Must work well in project oriented team environments.
- Competency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDM, etc.) and Microsoft Office products • Must have good technical writing skills.
- Good communication & presentation skills.
