FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Essential Functions:

  • Commissioning, troubleshooting, analyzing/identifying causes of mis-operation, performing site training and repairing instruments/products at customer’s location.
  • Writing of detailed test procedures and field service trip reports. 
  • Performing in-house functional testing of IEMPS products prior to shipment. Will relocate to Jacksonville, FL.

 

Education and Experience:

  • An AS degree or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of experience in the field working with complex electrical equipment.
  • The ability to make changes to HMI screen & PLC ladder logic programming is highly desirable.
  • A willingness to travel (up to 50%), being a team player, having strong communication skills and an ability to work independently without supervision are a must.
  • Testing electrical equipment or instrumentation using several types of test equipment including Hi-Pot, Meggar, 3 Phase Relay Test Equipment, milliamp simulators and multimeters is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with multiple/paralleling generator control system start-ups utilizing multi-function protection relays (Basler, GE or Schweitzer) and multi-function engine controllers (Woodward & ComAp) are a plus.
  • Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.

 


SWITCHGEAR & CONTROLS DESIGN ENGINEER - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Essential Functions:

  • Create drawings and bills of materials from which IEM will build custom electrical switchgear/switchboards (control systems involving PLC’s, intelligent controllers and protective relays will be implemented within designs)
  • Write detailed Sequences of Operation on certain projects with automation components
  • Complete programming assignments of automation components, protective devices, or other electrical equipment
  • Travel to customer sites occasionally for commissioning, troubleshooting or evaluation purposes as well as travel for job training, project testing or other project related business (should not exceed 30%). Will relocate domestically for this position.

 

Education and Experience:

  • A BSEE or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years working in a power and/or control (PLC system) related field is a must,
  • Including an understanding of basic electrical and control system principles and a familiarity with reading electrical schematics, three-line diagrams and control/communications diagrams.
  • Previous hands-on field experience.
  • Willingness to travel and a familiarity with Microsoft Office products is also required.
  • AutoCAD experience.

 MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - LANGLEY, BC

Purpose of Position:

This position will be responsible for the design and development of low and medium voltage products (LV/MV switchgear) from market specs in accordance with industry standards and designs.  This will include: working with EE’s and customers, assisting in the development of test programs, coordinating transfer of products to manufacturing, maintaining appropriate documentation, ensuring quality and reliability, aiding in the resolution of production problems, identifying and implement cost reductions, and providing input for new products.

 

Education and Experience for an Experiened ME:

  • A BSME or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer in the switchgear, utility or power industry
  • Solidworks/AutoCAD (ProE a plus)
  • Proficient computer skills are a must along with experience in sheet metal design of control panels, cabinets or other large structures.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude, highly detail-oriented, the ability to multi-task, good analytical and organizational skills as well as being a team player are a must.
  • Understanding of processes like welding and paint and powder coating would be a plus.

FIELD SERVICE & TEST TECHNICIAN - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for testing functionality of individual components and validating the overall functionality of a completed project and traveling into the field to perform site commissioning.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform wire checks, Hi-Pots and various forms of electrical testing.
  • Validate functionality of projects as compared to the prepared Sequence of Ops.
  • Complete all required paperwork and posts in the appropriate job folder.
  • Perform on-site testing and verification to ensure proper installation.
  • Interact with customers both via e-mail and on-site to ensure customer satisfaction.

PRODUCTION PLANNING SPECIALIST - LANGLEY, BC

Essential Functions:

  • Project scheduling in conjunction with purchasing, receiving, production, testing, sales, shipping and the client
  • Act as liaison between the sales team and/or client and factory regarding engineering submittals and shipping dates, and review order entry and change notices
  • Floor plan layout for switchgear and Amazon
  • Manage overall flow of project movement - IT liaison and processes

CNC PROGRAMMER - LANGLEY, BC

Purpose of Position:

The CNC Programmer is responsible to plan, program and machine quality parts.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and refine CNC laser programs and support tooling for machined and fabricated parts using CAD.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and related technical data to determine tool requirement, set-up procedure, control setup, and machine methods & sequences for machines.

Purpose of Position:

You will be responsible for the cost-effective purchase of raw materials, tools, parts, and supplies to support engineering and production.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage all aspects of the purchase process, including maintaining a network of reliable suppliers, cost analysis, sourcing, quotations, timely order placement, monitoring of order delivery timelines, and resolving any discrepancies or delivery issues
  • Immediate notification to all stakeholders of any potential delay of materials

FIELD SERVICE - ASHBURN, VA

Purpose of Position:

You will be responsible for site project management and hands-on field service work at customer sites, with a focus on commissioning of IEM equipment in data center applications.  Must be willing to relocate to Virginia. Electrical or MIL Experience

 

Essential Functions:

  • Attending project meetings and coordinating with high profile clients at multiple sites
  • Commissioning of power products and control systems for power products. 
  • Working with systems integrators to facilitate communication with other vendors’ equipment, including but not limited to generators, UPS’s and SCADA systems
  • Creating and Maintaining issue tracking logs for multiple sites with multiple pieces of IEM equipment
  • Coordinating with our manufacturing facilities to find solutions to product or commissioning issues identified by IEM or reported by the customer in the field
  • Working with the Field Service Manager to help schedule additional field resources or teams to cover service needs in the greater Virginia area
  • Performing preventive maintenance, field installations and modifications
  • Technical product support and troubleshooting
  • Working with project engineers and project managers to select and coordinate the replacement of parts

 

Education and Experience:

  • A technical degree or equivalent and a minimum 3 yrs. of experience working in a technical project management or a field service role working with ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.

Purpose of Position:

Complete the assembly of large and complex electrical equipment, including bus bar, and electrical components. Mechanically inclined with the ability to use hand tools and tape measure. Working well with others, following instructions, and being capable of lifting 50 lbs. TRAINING PROVIDED.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately assemble materials and equipment.
  • Use multiple measuring devices such as scales, feeler gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers tee square, machinist square and tape measure to accurately and precisely perform work.   
  • Punch, jig or perform layout of enclosure doors or enclosures.
  • Fabricate and install bus bar sections per drawings or instructions.
  • Install and/or modify various metallic or non-metallic items and components.
  • Perform touch-up painting as directed
  • Comply with all safety, quality and work rules, guidelines and regulations.

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for performing all wiring and related functions to manufacturing high quality electrical equipment.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, process sheets and schematic drawings.
  • Complete assembly and wiring of electrical components per drawings.
  • Use wire termination and component layout tools including but not limited to strippers, wire cutters, wire crimpers, screwdrivers, tee square, machinist square, tape measure, wrenches and pliers.
  • Follow company established practices for wire termination, routing, bundles, wire harnesses and wire numbers.
  • Wire complete panels per drawings including back panels and wiring between devices/ components.
  • Operate computer terminal and wire labeling equipment.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for fabricating sheet metal and bus bar products according to drawing specifications and perform functions related to manufacturing high quality electrical equipment.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Read, interpret and follow basic diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other instructions or procedures to accurately fabricate materials and equipment.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as press brakes, rolls, punch press, shears, cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
  • Use multiple measuring devices such as scales, feeler gauges, rulers, micrometers, calipers tee square, machinist square and tape measure to accurately and precisely perform work.   
  • Fabricate, modify and/or install various metallic or non-metallic items and components.
