FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN (ELECTRICAL)

Purpose of Position:

IEM will provide training on our specific equipment and commissioning process in Jacksonville, FL for approximately 4 weeks. You will be responsible for hands-on field service work at customer sites, with a focus on installation of components and subassemblies, and basic commissioning of IEM equipment primarily in data center or industrial applications. This includes, but may not be limited to:

  • Attending project meetings as required, including coordination with contractors and clients.
  • Installation and modification of electrical or mechanical components and subassemblies which may include: Panelboard interiors; Circuit breakers; Bus bar; Switchgear section doors and subpanels; Addition of control components; Power Cabling and control wiring;
  • Perform basic testing of modified assemblies (visual, ductor, etc.).
  • Perform basic commissioning of switchboards, controls panels, and power products.
  • Troubleshooting of electrical circuits and networking equipment.
  • Coordinating with Technical Project Manager or manufacturing facilities to find solutions to product or commissioning issues identified by IEM or reported by the customer in the field, and identifying additional field resources needed for installation and replacement parts
  • Performing preventive maintenance, field installations and modifications to existing equipment
  • Technical product support

Education and Experience:

  • A technical degree or equivalent and 1-2 yrs. of experience working in a manufacturing environment or field service role with ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT.
  • Must be a team player and have strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision is a must

ORDER ENTRY ADMINISTRATOR

Purpose of Postition:

This position will support the company’s sales team by being responsible for ensuring customer orders are processed in an efficient and timely manner. 

Essential Functions:

  • Work with Sales Representatives to obtain necessary paperwork required for each order
  • Review contracts and order paperwork for completeness and accuracy
  • Accurately enter orders into INFOR system and ensure completed orders are sent to necessary parties
  • Work with appropriate parties to quickly resolve issues that delay time in processing
  • Responsible for creating entries in INFOR system for new materials/components
  • Be able to problem solve discrepancies by using available resources within company means
  • Process order change notices in a timely manner
  • Answer incoming calls in support of sales team

POWDER COAT AND FABRICATION LEAD

Purpose of Position:

The position will be responsible for all aspects of preparing metal parts for application of powder coating to assemble low and medium voltage switchboard and switchgear assemblies. They will also oversee all aspects of metal fabrication.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for maintaining all equipment and systems associated with powder coat line in full functioning operational order.
  • Responsible for maintaining proper balance of chemicals and treatments required to treat metal in preparation of powder coating process.
  • Track and document usage of water, chemicals and powder to ensure compliance with environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Work with scheduling to stage parts thru powder coating to properly support production needs.
  • Manage, order and track materials needed to fully operate powder line. This includes powder, chemicals, room filters, safety equipment, etc.

PRODUCTION PLANNER - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as serving as liaison between the Commercial Services Department and Production.

Essential Functions:

  • Review new customer orders and establishes shipping schedules compatible with customer requirements and production capabilities.
  • Commit to a delivery schedule and ensures on time delivery is met.
  • Analyze sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  • Receive and review sales orders against current requirements and work in process.

PRODUCT ENGINEER - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Purpose of Position:

You will be responsible for working with a team to develop, document, and support switchgear and related power products. Product designs include components like transformers, reactors, protective elements, surge arrestors, automation systems, in addition to core components like current carrying conductors and circuit breakers. 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical support for Jacksonville production team relating to standard products, primarily for data center or other repeatable applications.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production and QC teams to consolidate and establish design standards and application guides for existing products.
  • Interface with Purchasing and outside vendors to help manage supply chain issues that arise on standard products.
  • Create Designs, Bills of Materials, and Test plans for new IEM products. Designs should be optimized for low cost, high reliability, and ease of manufacturing.
  • Define and document new product development project specifications and scope based on input from IEM sales, engineering and senior management.
  • Provide accurate and comprehensive project closeout documentation including product capabilities, limitations and application details.
  • Work with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL’s) and 3rd party test labs to define, plan and schedule equipment evaluation and testing based on applicable standards and code. Examples of applicable tests: Short Circuit, BIL, Seismic, Heat Rise, Functional Control tests, & Failure Sequence Tests.  Travel to labs as needed to support tests.
  • Analyze project requests and suggest alternate design/testing methods that may be more cost effective, whenever possible
  • Identify solutions, solve technical problems, and propose alternate designs where design issues exist with current products. Work with sales, production or clients to optimize IEM’s product offering.
  • Work with compliance and quality-control teams to define certification processes for new products (traceability, labeling, etc.)

Education and Experience:

  • A BSEE, BSME or equivalent and a minimum 3 years of experience designing MV/LVSwitchgear or Related Products. This must include a solid grasp of three-phase electric power concepts including distribution systems.
  • Familiarity with the NRTL evaluation and certification processes, as well as UL / IEEE standards for various types of electrical equipment (UL 891, 1558, 508A; IEEE C37.20, etc.)
  • Must be a team player with strong verbal/written communication skills and self-motivated with an ability to work independently without supervision.

Purpose of Position:

The Training Specialist is responsible for creating, developing, implementing and conducting training and development programs.

FIELD SERVICE DATA ANALYST - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Purpose of Position:

The Data Analyst will provide accounting oversight and reporting to the field service management team as well as executive management and accounting teams. They will perform project management and order entry duties for field service customer orders, interacting directly with IEM MRP systems to assist with fulfilment of field trip requests.

Essential Functions:

  • Review Expense and Revenue reports (P&L) relating to field service operations. Validate data and correlate with Field Trip Requests.
  • Using bookkeeping databases, spreadsheets, and software such as Microsoft Excel
  • Produces a variety of reports including billing statements, balance sheets, and labor reports
  • Serve as Fleet Manager for Field Service Company Vehicles
  • Track/Audit expenses; propose cost savings measures to Management

PROJECT MANAGER (SWITCHGEAR) - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for (but not limited to) the following for our key enterprise clients:

  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Coordinates customer deliverables with plant production
  • Reconciles production schedule to customer demand
  • Reconcile customer forecast changes to production plan, update system and provide status reports to all stakeholders
  • Coordinates with materials team and vendors to ensure production deliverables are met
  • Works with logistics team to coordinate shipments to customer sites.
  • Coordinate with Production, Materials Group, Engineering, Commercial Sales and Shipping to manage and fulfill change orders or back orders at all stages of project fulfillment.
  • Administering and coordinating customer’s entire cycle will include but not limited to:
  • Participate in weekly/daily scheduled deployment update meetings and contribute status information.
  • Ongoing daily communication regarding  capacity, inventory, ship dates, delivery dates, pull-ins, push-outs, delivery addresses, contact information, requests for documents, etc.
  • Keeping stakeholders appraised of ship dates, changes, etc. and keeping things “on track”
  • Coordinate factory material support for field service including updates to tracking tools
  • Experience managing multiple projects at any given time

PROJECT MANAGER

Purpose of Position: 

This position is responsible for effectively managing and maintaining relationships between the company and our customers during the order cycle by working with team members to help meet the customer’s needs. 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain and/or develop proven systems to track orders from order entry to shipment/delivery to ensure timeliness of shipment to meet customer’s expectation.
  • Maintain strong support for and interact with the Regional Sales Manager, which includes all order management activities.
  • Coordinate with other internal departments and outside sales representatives/customers to achieve on-time shipment.
  • Review customer Purchase Order for compliance with IEM Quote and help resolve any discrepancies.
  • Prepare order for entry along with managing all associated documents and correspondence.
  • Participate in engineering handoff meetings when applicable.
  • Work with engineering and customer through the submittal and release process.
  • Work with engineering, sales, and customer to manage change orders.
  • Interface with Supply Chain to ensure material availability.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE - FREMONT, CA

Purpose of Position:

This position will report to the AR Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Process and post daily cash, ACH, wires and credit card transactions
  • Make daily deposits and process payment write ups
  • Interface with sales teams to mitigate customer PO and invoice discrepancies/disputes
  • Investigate and resolve short payments, disputed charges and invalid deductions
  • Maintain lien database, send and follow up on job information worksheets for customer’s liens
  • Process preliminary notices and waivers in a timely manner
  • Review customer PO and address any discrepancies with the sales team
  • Support credit manager on new customer setup, credit and trade reference checks
  • Make collection calls on assigned accounts in a professional manner while maintaining outstanding customer relations
  • Review/audit orders daily for accuracy and compliance, place discrepant orders on credit hold as needed
  • Mail and e-mail daily invoices to customers including online billings to various client’s portal/billing system
  • Process credit/debit memo requests
  • Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for acquiring, purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment and supplies for the Company.

Essential Functions:

  • Create purchase orders by analyzing the available price/delivery data to choose the best vendor/manufacturer for each product.
  • Monitor the purchase order progress with vendors to ensure the expected deadlines are met.
  • Report material progress to other departments in weekly meetings or as required.
  • Interface with other departments to discuss/resolve any issues that may arise with any product that could hinder the completion of a job.
  • Analyze vendor/manufacturer performance based on quality, delivery, and price as well as other pertinent data to maintain a strong supply chain.

Responsibilities Include:

ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Purpose of Position:

You will be responsible for high-level design, including creation of drawings and Bills of Materials for custom switchgear products, primarily for data center, industrial, and paralleling generator applications. In addition to designing, you will provide oversight and guidance to junior engineers.

This Includes:

  • Create drawing package for custom equipment, including LV and MV switchgear, switchboards, ATS’s, control panels, and other power products.
  • Apply automation components such as PLC’s, HMI’s, protective relays, and advanced networking equipment to accomplish required automation sequences
  • Select components and create detailed bills of materials
  • Collaborate with mechanical design team to generate layout drawings of IEM equipment
  • Review customer plans and specs, raising any discrepancies in IEM product offering
  • Identify solutions or alternate designs, where design issues exist and work with sales, production or clients to optimize IEM’s product offering.
  • Perform project oversight from an engineering perspective to the manufacturing plant as projects move through various stages of production. Provide feedback to commercial, project management, or field service teams within IEM for any problem items.
  • Attend customer design meetings and lead factory witness tests.

Requirements:

QUOTATIONS ENGINEER

Purpose of Position:

As a part of the Quotations team that will provide the sales force with support by performing proposal preparation you will be responsible for providing technical quotations through the analysis of cost of materials & labor associated with designing, engineering, and producing final custom assemblies for our LV/MV Switchgear. Responsibilities encompass completing quotations/proposals that would include reviewing and interpreting engineered drawings and specifications, working closely with our suppliers, interacting regularly with our sales, engineering, production, and purchasing departments.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineer or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Solid knowledge of LV/MV switchgear
  • Experience with complex proposals/quotations in manufacturing environment is essential. Excellent computer, communication and organizational skills are a must.

SALES ENGINEER

Purpose of Position:

As a Sales Engineer for IEM in the SF Bay Area, you will be responsible for the sale of IEM power distribution products (MV/LV Switchgear, Switchboards, Panelboards) through direct channels. This includes developing and maintaining medium and large Electrical Contractor accounts and developing contacts and sales with key end user accounts. Candidate should be skilled in assembling large project package quotations to include IEM and non IEM products as necessary to furnish a complete bill of material to the customer.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the sale of power distribution equipment - MV/LV switchgear/switchboards

AUTOMATION ENGINEER - JACKSONVILLE, FL

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for programming, developing, configuring, testing, training and providing remote support for PLC, HMI and SCADA and advanced industrial communications systems as part of switchgear and related power products.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze specifications provided by the customer.
  • Identify hardware and software solutions for application in switchgear and power products.
  • Complete programming assignments utilizing PLC/HMI’s, protective relays, industry-specific dedicated automation controllers and networking equipment
  • Translate sequence of operations into hardware/software solutions.
  • Lead shop testing and support startup efforts for advanced automation projects.
  • Attend site meetings and walk-throughs; provide input to engineering and sales teams on automation and switchgear solutions within IEM products.

You will be responsible for hands-on field service work at customer sites, with a focus on installation of components and subassemblies, and basic commissioning of IEM equipment primarily in data center or industrial applications.

  • Attending project meetings as required, including coordination with contractors and clients.

In this newly created position, you will be responsible for supervisory design of power products, primarily for data center applications.  In addition to designing products, you will provide oversight and guidance to junior engineers to create an overall package.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Create drawing package for custom equipment, including LV and MV switchgear, switchboards, ATS’s, control panels, and other power products.
  • Select components and create detailed bills of materials
  • Collaborate with mechanical design team to generate layout drawings of IEM equipment
  • Review customer plans and specs, raising any discrepancies in IEM product offering
  • Review and redline drawings completed from other engineers, primarily for data center clients.  Suggest solutions or alternate designs, where applicable.
  • Ensure that drawing packages created by different design engineers are complete and create a consistent package that meet requirements for particular data center clients.

Purpose of Position:

IEM is seeking hands-on field engineers to support the modification of switchgear and controls, with a focus on industrial automation equipment. The professional chosen for this position will work with the IEM team to assess, troubleshoot, and commission industrial networking and automation hardware into existing customer sites.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and commissioning of a diverse range of LV/MV power and control products. These systems may include automation systems, PLCs, and / or data acquisition systems
  • Identify and propose solutions to system integration issues with equipment from other vendors, including generator sets, UPS’s, transformers, servers, etc.
  • Modify Programs for complex automation and protective relaying systems
  • Identify and propose solutions to product, application, or commissioning issues as reported by customers in the field

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for the design of custom MV/LV switchgear for commercial applications, often projects ranging from $300K to $40 million.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Create drawings and bills of materials from which IEM will build custom electrical switchgear/switchboards (control systems involving PLC’s, intelligent controllers and protective relays will be implemented within designs)
  • Write detailed Sequences of Operation on certain projects with automation components
  • Travel to customer sites occasionally for commissioning, troubleshooting or evaluation purposes as well as travel for job training, project testing or other project related business (should not exceed 10%)

 

Education and Experience:

  • A BSEE or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years designing MV/LV SWITCHGEAR including an understanding of basic electrical and control system principles and a familiarity with reading electrical schematics, three-line diagrams and control/communications diagrams. 
  • Previous hands-on field experience, willingness to travel, excellent skills with Microsoft Office products and AUTOCAD

Purpose of Position:

This position is responsible for hands-on field service work at customer sites, with a focus on installation of components and subassemblies, wiring, and basic commissioning of IEM equipment primarily in data center or industrial applications.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Installation and modification of mechanical components and subassemblies of panel board interiors, circuit breakers, bus bar, doors and subpanels, Perform basic testing of modified assemblies (visual, ductor, etc.).
  • Installation and modification of electrical/control components, including wiring.  Perform basic testing (continuity checks, initial power up)
  • Coordinate with Field Project Manager and/or manufacturing facilities to find solutions to product or commissioning issues identified by IEM or reported by the customer in the field
  • Work with the Field Project Manager to identify if additional field resources will be needed
  • Perform equipment inspections upon arrival and after installation; document deficiencies
  • Perform preventive maintenance, field installations and modifications
