Available Positions:

CONTROLLER

IEM Power Systems, located in Jacksonville, FL, is a subsidiary of Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM), North America’s largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment. IEM Power Systems designs and builds innovative power systems for critical applications where continuous and reliable power is required.

This position is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, cash management, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversees the activities of the accounting department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements, annual audits and budgets.
  • Oversees the activities of the disbursement function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, petty cash, and employee expense reports and cash control.
  • Oversees the activities of the accounts receivable function to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc., resolve delinquent accounts receivable and shorten payment cycle.
  • Assures income tax compliance by accurately and timely completing all income tax returns and taking full advantage of all favorable tax codes.
  • Establishes and maintains systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data to enhance the company’s value.
  • Reconciles accounts with Battice (Belgium) office quarterly.
  • Performs currency conversion on transactions with Battice office and adjusts books accordingly.
  • Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports.
  • Performs other duties which may be required by supervisor.

Requirements include a 4 year college degree in Accounting or a related field and at least 7 years of accounting experience, with 2 years as an Accounting Manager or Controller with supervisory responsibility. Accounting experience in manufacturing or construction environment is strongly preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, analyze numbers and meet deadlines and working knowledge of an ERP system are required. Experience working with an international division is strongly desired.

PRODUCTION MANAGER

IEM Power Systems, located in Jacksonville, FL, is a subsidiary of Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM), North America’s largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment. IEM Power Systems designs and builds innovative power systems for critical applications where continuous and reliable power is required.

This position will be responsible for supervising the Production Department in a safe and effective manner in order to produce quality products for customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Plans and establishes production targets, work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Revises production schedules when required due to priorities, engineering design changes, labor or material shortages, back orders or other situations requiring collaboration with management to update production schedules and plans.
  • Ownership of Quality in all aspects of production.
  • Enters/validates all production orders entered into the ERP system as production is physically completed.
  • Monitors each project to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintains staff by selecting, orienting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Trains or directs the training of new hires.
  • Ensures safe work practices are adhered to.
  • Ensures production equipment, Company vehicle and tools are properly maintained.
  • Maintains shop supplies and manufacturing inventories.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; initiating coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures.
  • Interacts with various departments on a daily basis to gather information to get projects started and completed.
  • Ensures schematics and materials are available to complete projects.
  • Works with Field Service & Test Department and Shipping Department to plan shipments to customers.
  • Ensures each project is inspected prior to shipment, makes sure material used on projects is accounted for and reported to accounting, takes photos of projects and posts to Worknet.

Requirements include a 4 year technical degree and 5 years of direct supervisory experience with production, engineering, warehouse and quality functions in a manufacturing/plant environment with emphasis on electrical assembly. Experience and success with process improvements including utilizing continued process disciplines such as Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent is required, as well as ability to interpret and understand electrical schematics and experience working with an ERP System.

HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT (PART-TIME)

IEM (Industrial Electric Mfg.) is the largest independent full-line manufacturer of custom electrical distribution and power quality equipment in North America. IEM has delivered customer-specific solutions to meet the ever changing power requirements of growth industries in North America for over half century. This position offers an exciting opportunity within an innovative, growing company in Fremont.

Working a minimum of 20 hours a week, you will be responsible for supporting the HR Department which will include but not be limited to: helping create and implement new programs; new hire orientations; the termination process; LOA’s; WC claim filing; policies/procedures; maintaining records for EEO and affirmative action reporting requirements.

Requirements: A minimum 1 year of experience as an HR Assistant with excellent attention to detail, organizational and general math skills. Excellent communication and people skills are also required along with being a self-starter with the ability to work independently. PC proficiency and being a team player are also a must. Strongly prefer availability on MONDAYS.

SALES ENGINEER (Switchgear – LA area)

This position offers an exciting opportunity within an innovative, employee-oriented company and a flexible compensation package.

As a Sales Engineer for IEM in the Greater LA Area, you will be responsible for the sales of IEM Power distribution products (MV/LV Switchgear, Switchboards, Panelboards) through distribution and direct channels. This includes developing and maintaining the large Electrical Contractor accounts, Electrical Consulting Engineer accounts, Electrical Wholesale/Distribution accounts and developing contacts with key end user accounts.

Requirements: A technical degree or equivalent and a minimum 3 years’ experience in the sale of power distribution equipment (MV/LV switchgear/switchboards). A strong track record of negotiating medium and large project orders, successfully developing new contacts, maintaining current relationships with major contractors throughout the sales cycle and maximizing client potential is a must. Experience generating accurate project proposals utilizing MV/LV switchgear to present a complete bid package is required. A self-motivated individual with a high level of professionalism, excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills are also required. Ideal candidate will be known in the greater LA electrical equipment market and will have developed a trust with a core group of existing contractors/distributors.

ON-SITE PROJECT MANAGER

IEM Power Systems, located in Jacksonville, FL, is a subsidiary of Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM), North America’s largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment. IEM Power Systems designs and builds innovative power systems for critical applications where continuous and reliable power is required.

This position is responsible for providing overall management direction to jobs including administering project plan, project schedule, cost, and client expectations. The On-Site Project Manager will have temporary residence close to the job site and will work full-time on the job site from beginning of project through customer acceptance.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains project schedules by researching material and equipment lead times and coordinating subcontractor scheduling requirements
  • Attends site survey and walk-throughs
  • Identifies project areas of risk that may adversely affect schedule, cost, contract rights, client relations, etc. and develops solutions and/or minimization strategies
  • Assists with project start-up and resolving punch list items found at the job
  • Administers all administrative requirements of projects to include the preparation of project logs, records, reports, correspondence, etc
  • Provides all management direction to assigned projects to include ensuring quality control standards are achieved while confirming to project design criteria and product specifications
  • Conducts progress meetings with the customer and design team and prepares schedule updates to track progress and corrects sequencing of all work activities
  • Oversees all project close-out requirements
  • Develops and proposes solutions to problems encountered during all phases of the project and communicates to build positive relationships with the client and the project team
  • Performs other duties which may be required by supervisor

Requirements: A four year college degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related field, 5 years of experience in Site Management and/or Project Management, strong problem solving skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, excellent communication skills and customer presence. Extensive travel is required.

ON-SITE POWER SALES ENGINEER

IEM Power Systems, located in Jacksonville, FL, is a subsidiary of Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM), North America’s largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment. IEM Power Systems designs and builds innovative power systems for critical applications where continuous and reliable power is required.

Reporting to the VP of Sales & Marketing, you will be responsible for selling electric power generation products including generators, switchgear and control systems. In this position you will identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing a personal rapport with potential and current customers, provide product, service or engineering information to customers, establish new accounts and service existing accounts, plan and organize sales call schedule, prepare proposals and pricing development by studying blueprints, plans, bid documents, and engineering specifications, and consult with engineers to ensure final products or technical solutions meet customer expectations.

Requirements: A four year college degree in Electrical Engineering or Sales Management and 15 years’ experience in power distribution, power transmission, paralleling switchgear, substation transformers, and power relays. Extensive experience in cold calling and selling engineering solutions related to the power industry are also required. Ability to travel up to 75% and work in a fast paced environment is a must.
