FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN/ENGINEER

IEM Power Systems, located in Jacksonville, FL, is a subsidiary of Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM), North America’s largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment. IEM Power Systems designs and builds innovative power systems for critical applications where continuous and reliable power is required.

This position will be responsible for the in-house testing, verification and start-up in the field of a project which will include performing UL inspections, developing test procedures, performing set-up and dynamic adjustment of analog and digital governor systems, voltage regulator systems and engineer generator controllers. You will also perform modifications and repairs to existing systems.

Requirements include a minimum 5 years of experience with multiple/paralleling generator control system start-ups utilizing multi-function protection relays (Basler, GE or Schweitzer a plus) and multi-function engine controllers (Woodward & ComAp a plus). An AS Degree is preferred. Experience using several types of test equipment including Hi-Pot, Meggar, 3 Phase Relay Test Equipment, milliamp simulators and multimeters is also required. Strong computer skills – the ability to make changes in the field to HMI screen & PLC ladder logic programming – are highly desirable. A willingness to travel, a team player, strong communication skills and an ability to work independently without supervision are a must.

JUNIOR POWER PRODUCTS ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

We are seeking an entry-level power products electrical engineer to support our efforts at our engineering branch in Portland, Oregon. Training will be provided in basic power and control design principles, as they relate to electrical switchgear. You will be responsible in supporting the efforts of our California production facility, utilizing Bentley’s Promis.e software and Autocad. Over time, it is expected for you to take on bigger and more challenging tasks, and to work more independently as your knowledge base grows.

An engineer who enjoys travel and excels at field tasks may find themselves commissioning, troubleshooting or performing engineering surveys at diverse locations where our gear is installed. Qualifications:

No Industry experience is necessary, although some professional experience that relates to engineering and the power industry is preferred. The candidate should have recently completed or be working toward completing an electrical engineering degree from an ABET accredited institution. An understanding of basic electrical engineering principles is required. The applicant must be familiar with using a computer and Microsoft Office products.

The ideal candidate would possess an eagerness to learn and to develop engineering skills required for success in this highly in-demand field. Attitude and aptitude are the biggest qualifications. PROJECT MANAGER

IEM Power Systems, located in Jacksonville, FL, is a subsidiary of Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM), North America’s largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment. IEM Power Systems designs and builds innovative power systems for critical applications where continuous and reliable power is required.

The Project Manager position will be part of the Inside Sales/Application Engineering team and will be responsible for effectively managing and maintaining relationships between the company and our customers during the order cycle, by working directly with customers to access and help meet their needs. You will maintain and/or develop proven systems to track orders from order entry to shipment/delivery to ensure timeliness of shipment to meet the customer’s expectation including effectively coordinating with other internal departments and outside sales representatives/customers to achieve on-time shipment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Review customer Purchase Order and resolve any commercial/technical issues
  • Prepare order for entry along with managing all associated documents and correspondence
  • Participate in engineering handoff meetings when applicable
  • Work with engineering and customer through the submittal and release process
  • Work with engineering, quotations, sales and customer to manage change orders
  • Interface with Supply Chain to ensure material availability
  • Use system generated reports or develop effective reports that track order status and flag potential issues with orders
  • Proactively anticipate, identify and resolve possible issues with orders that may cause delays or other customer complaints

Requirements include a 4 year college degree in business and/or Project Management Certification and a minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position. Strong problem solving skills, ability to handle multiple priorities, and excellent computer, communication and organizational skills are a must. Knowledge of IEM Power Systems types of products and the electrical industry is a plus.

QUOTATIONS SPECIALIST

IEM Power Systems, located in Jacksonville, FL, is a subsidiary of Industrial Electric Mfg. (IEM), North America’s largest independent full-line manufacturer of electrical distribution and power quality equipment. IEM Power Systems designs and builds innovative power systems for critical applications where continuous and reliable power is required.

You will be responsible for accurately providing technical-commercial quotations through the analysis of cost of materials and labor associated with designing, engineering and producing final custom assemblies for our LV/MV Switchgear including paralleling equipment and various control systems. Responsibilities encompass completing quotations/proposals which would include reviewing and interpreting engineered drawings and specifications, working closely with our suppliers and interacting regularly with our sales, engineering, production and purchasing departments.

You will be part of the Inside Sales/Application Engineering team which provides the sales force with support by preparing proposals and quotes. Training will be provided on the estimating tools used to generate the quotations. Minimal travel required.

Requirements include a 4 year college degree and a 2 years of experience* with a solid knowledge of LV/MV Switchgear. Experience doing complex proposals/quotations in a factory environment is essential. Strong problem solving skills, excellent computer, communication and organizational skills are a must. Knowledge of paralleling controls and/or PLC/HMI controls is desired. Experience with Design/Build applications is a plus.
