CONTROLS ENGINEER / PLC PROGRAMMER – JACKSONVILLE, FL
You will be responsible for Controls Design and PLC Programming for engine generators and switchgear. You will be working with the switchgear design engineer to choose the hardware and architecture, develop custom programs and custom HMI monitoring systems and ultimately program the PLC’s. This will include analyzing specs and descriptions of operations to determine operational requirements for electrical control systems, developing programs for PLC application to perform systems controls, installing & testing systems software in switchgear assemblies, and providing support for start-up and field service,.
Requirements include a minimum of 2 years of experience with Allen Bradley and GE PLC’s or equivalent, data communications including Modbus, RS232, RS485 and Ethernet a plus. Experience with graphic interface development using HMI and touch screen development packages is required. Excellent communication skills, a thirst for knowledge, the ability to work in a team atmosphere and being a self-starter are musts.

SENIOR SWITCHGEAR ENGINEER – JACKSONVILLE, FL
As a Senior Switchgear Engineer, your responsibilities will include the design and development of unique custom switchgear utilizing industry standard communication protocols to multiple PLC’s, protective relays and 3rd party devices. You will also be creating innovative solutions working directly with the customer utilizing industry cutting-edge components. Managing a project, you will interface internally with sales, test/QA, programmers and field service.
Requirements included a BSEE or equivalent and a minimum 5 years of experience designing switchgear with a solid understanding of low and medium voltage switchgear design standards and applications. This should include familiarity with: UL 891, UL1558, UL1670, and ANSI C37.20 design standards. You must also have a solid knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear protection schemes including circuit breaker trip units, protective relays and ground fault schemes. Experience with generator controls including stand-alone operation, multiple generators operating in parallel on an isolated bus and generators operating in parallel with utility are also a must. Experience with multi-function engine/generator controllers, AutoCAD, and an understanding of basic motor controls and programmable logic controllers would be a plus. Excellent communication skills and being self-motivated are required.
