REGIONAL VICE PRESIDENT – SALES (WESTERN REGION)

As the Regional Vice President of Sales for the West, you will be the “factory expert” – responsible for developing regional sales strategies, having an excellent understanding of the customer base and market conditions, as well as knowledge of contracts and sales terms and conditions.You will manage direct reports at the corporate office in Fremont, CA and the manufacture’s reps in your territory. Sales calls with reps and providing support and training when required will be an integral part of the job.

Requirements include a technical or business Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum 7 years of experience in a successful Sales Management role within the electrical industry are required. Knowledge of switchgear (LV/MV) and electrical distribution and control systems is strongly preferred. You must have a successful track record of building an organization, achieving goals, creating sales strategies, and effectively managing sales personnel (direct reports and manufacturer’s reps). Your willingness to travel, ability to understand an electric one-line from a customer, and excellent communication and computer skills are also required. Residence in California strongly desired.
 

ROTARY UPS CONTROLS ENGINEER – JACKSONVILLE, FL

As Rotary UPS Controls Engineer, you will use standard occupational tools and knowledge to perform the following job duties. Research, design, develop, test and supervise the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use. Create Finite Element Models of electrical machines utilizing JMAG software and Solidworks. Model and simulate power system components utilizing PSCAD, Matlab, and Simulink. Analyze and verify power flow and short circuit coordination in a power system network using PowerWorld and EasyPower. Analyze stability issues, fault tolerance and harmonic distortion in a power system. Perform control system identification using the data captured from hardware. Develop and optimize control algorithms for distributed generation networks. Define the modes of operations, system states, transitions, faults, alarms, and system I/O. Utilize Megger to measure the insulation resistance and polarization index of electrical machines. Capture and display digital and analog signals using Logic Analyzer and Oscilloscope. Implement Proportional-Integral-Derivative control using Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and create complete controls documentation. Use RS Logix to program PLC’s. Develop tools to size inductor and brushless exciters for the Rotary Uninterruptible Power Supply. Use C# and Silverlight to write code for collecting PHASOR measurement unit data and a user interface for the collected data. Program and configure automatic voltage regulators, Variable Frequency Drives, power sharing controllers and protection relays. Perform electrical CAD drafting using AutoCad. May perform other duties as appropriate for this occupation.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or in a related IT or engineering field, and 2 years of related experience that provided the required skills and abilities. Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and experience requirements and ability to perform job duties.

ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER – PORTLAND, OR

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will create drawings and bills of materials from which IEM will build custom electrical switchgear/switchboards. Control systems involving PLC’s, intelligent controllers and protective relays will be implemented within designs. Writing of detailed Sequences of Operation may be required on projects with automation components. Generating engineering reports and procedures as well as completing programming assignments of automation components, protective devices, or other electrical equipment will also be included. Occasional travel to customer sites for commissioning, troubleshooting or evaluation purposes as well as travel for job training, project testing or other project related business will occur and should not exceed 20%.

Requirements include a technical education or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years working in a power and/or control (PLC system) related field is a must, including an understanding of basic electrical and control system principles and a familiarity with reading electrical schematics, three line diagrams and control/communications diagrams. Previous hands-on field experience, willingness to travel and a familiarity with Microsoft Office products is also required. AutoCAD experience, knowledge of IEEE/ANSI C37.20 and UL891/1558 design guidelines and NFPA70E are desirable. A positive attitude, attention to detail, pride in workmanship and working well within a team are traits that would describe a successful engineer in our field.

This position is based out of the Northwest Region Office of IEM, located in downtown Portland, OR.
 

SWITCHGEAR AND CONTROLS DESIGN ENGINEER – TORONTO, ON

You will be responsible for the design of medium and low voltage switchgear for commercial applications on a project by project basis. Primary duties will include equipment layout, component selection, electrical & wiring design, and bill of material summarization; technical review of new projects with sales / marketing group, and interface with customers / consultants to resolve any technical design issues in parts / specifications / drawings.

Requirements include a BSEE, EET or equivalent and a minimum 3 years of experience designing medium voltage (5 kV – 38 kV) and low voltage switchgear. This includes a familiarity with: IEEE/ANSI 37.20 and UL891/1558 design guidelines as well as Arc Flash standards IEEE1584 and NFPA70E, product testing/certification and Arc flash testing, experience with complex PLC control (hardware design) and writing sequence of operations for complex commercial applications. Excellent communication skills are also a must. Familiarity with one or more PLC platforms such as Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc and Siemens, and HMI’s such as Wonderware, Intellution, UL / CSA certification and testing experience, and design experience in paralleling switchgear and/or automatic transfer are desirable.
 

MANAGER OF SALES APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING – JACKSONVILLE, FL

Reporting to the COO/Systems, you will be a hands-on Manager of the group responsible for providing technical quotations through the analysis of cost of materials & labor associated with designing, engineering, and producing final custom assemblies for our LV/MV Switchgear. Responsibilities encompass supervising, training and completing quotations/proposals which would include reviewing and interpreting engineered drawings and specifications, working closely with our suppliers, and interacting regularly with our sales, engineering, production, and purchasing departments. Your department will provide the sales force with support by performing proposal preparation, technical assistance related to the products, and the review, approval and forecasting of orders. Emphasis in all responsibilities will be to profitably increase the market share with a focus on customer satisfaction and productivity. Minimal travel expected.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum 3 years in a senior, supervisory or managerial role with a solid technical knowledge of LV/MV switchgear. Having done complex proposals/quotations in a factory environment is essential. Excellent computer, communication and organizational skills are a must. Experience with paralleling controls and/or PLC/ HMI controls are a plus. Relocation provided.

 

APPLICATIONS ENGINEER – ESTIMATOR – JACKSONVILLE, FL

You will be responsible for providing technical quotations through the analysis of cost of materials & labor associated with designing, engineering, and producing final custom assemblies for our LV/MV Switchgear including paralleling equipment and various control systems. Responsibilities encompass completing quotations/proposals which would include reviewing and interpreting engineered drawings and specifications, working closely with our suppliers, and interacting regularly with our sales, engineering, production and purchasing departments.

You will be part of the Commercial Services team which provides the sales force with support by performing proposal preparation. Training will be provided on the estimating tools used to generate the quotations. Minimal travel expected.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of experience with a solid knowledge of LV/MV switchgear. Having done complex proposals/quotations in a factory environment is essential. Excellent computer, communication and organizational skills are a must. Knowledge of paralleling controls and/or PLC/HMI controls is desired. Experience with Design/Build applications is a plus. Relocation provided.
