QUOTATION / ORDER MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST (Jacksonville, FL)
IEM Power Systems (IEMPS) designs and build advanced power control systems for mission critical and similar applications where continuous, reliable and efficient power is required. As part of Industrial Electric Mfg., IEMPS provides unique solutions for today’s demanding power requirements.
As Quotations/Order Management Specialist, you will be responsible for developing project designs and proposals through the estimation of low voltage and medium voltage electrical switchgear, paralleling equipment and other control systems involving all aspects of electrical controls and apparatus. This position requires the ability to provide technical quotations through the analysis of cost of materials & labor associated with designing, engineering, and producing final custom assemblies. Responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting project engineered drawings and specifications, providing technical support to our customers, working closely with our suppliers, and interacting regularly with our sales, engineering, production, and purchasing departments at all IEM companies.
Requirements include a 4 year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 2 years of experience working with Low Voltage/Medium Voltage Switchgear. Experience with preparing complex proposals/quotations in a manufacturing environment and strong computer, communication and organizational skills is required. Knowledge of paralleling controls and/or PLC/HMI is desired. Experience with Design/Build application a plus.
SWITCHGEAR AND CONTROLS DESIGN ENGINEER (Toronto area or Langley, BC)
You will be responsible for the design of medium and low voltage switchgear for commercial applications on a project by project basis. Primary duties will include equipment layout, component selection, electrical & wiring design, and bill of material summarization; technical review of new projects with sales / marketing group, and interface with customers / consultants to resolve any technical design issues in parts / specifications / drawings. This position will include about 25% travel.
Requirements include a BSEE, EET or equivalent and a minimum 2 years of experience designing medium voltage (5 kV – 38 kV) and low voltage switchgear. This includes a familiarity with: IEEE/ANSI 37.20 and UL891/1558 design guidelines as well as Arc Flash standards IEEE1584 and NFPA70E, product testing/certification and Arc flash testing, experience with complex PLC control (hardware design) and writing sequence of operations for complex commercial applications. Excellent communication skills are also a must. Familiarity with one or more PLC platforms such as Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc and Siemens, and HMI’s such as Wonderware, Intellution, UL / CSA certification and testing experience, and design experience in paralleling switchgear and/or automatic transfer are desirable.
APPLICATIONS ENGINEER – ESTIMATOR
Reporting to the Manager of Application Engineering, you will responsible for providing technical quotations through the analysis of cost of materials & labor associated with designing, engineering, and producing final custom assemblies for our LV/MV Switchgear. Responsibilities encompass completing quotations/proposals which would include reviewing and interpreting engineered drawings and specifications, working closely with our suppliers, and interacting regularly with our sales, engineering, production, and purchasing departments.
You will be part of the Application Engineering team which provide the sales force with support by performing proposal preparation. As a direct report to the Manager of Application Engineering training will be provided on the estimating tools used to generate the quotations. Minimal travel expected.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum 3 years of experience with a solid knowledge of LV/MV switchgear. Having done complex proposals/quotations in a factory environment is essential. Excellent computer, communication and organizational skills are a must. Experience with paralleling controls and/or PLC/ HMI controls are a plus.
