MANUFACTURING PROJECT MANAGER (CONTINUIOUS IMPROVEMENT EXPEREINCE REQUIRED) - JACKSONVILLE,FL
Purpose of Position

We are looking for a Manufacturing Project Manager with knowledge and experience in a MTS high volume, vertically integrated manufacturing operation.  The Manufacturing Project Manager will act as the hands-on leader coordinating the day-to-day execution of continuous improvement projects. This role drives the tactical execution of continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring the implementation of 5S, Lean, and other methodologies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance quality.

 

Essential Functions: 

As the Manufacturing Project Manager, you will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

Execution and Management:

  • Lead the execution of process improvement initiatives in alignment with operational objectives in the Jacksonville facilities.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and meet the set objectives.
  • Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and milestones to track the progress of improvement initiatives.
  • Provide input to developing and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by coaching and mentoring teams on Lean principles.

Collaboration and Implementation:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, engineering and supply chain, to ensure alignment of continuous improvement goals with operational targets.
  • Coordinate implementation of Lean initiatives, and other improvement methodologies.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify, prioritize, and execute process improvement opportunities in manufacturing.
  • Problem-Solving: Participate in root cause analysis sessions and apply problem-solving tools to address issues in the production process (typically led by Quality teams).

Reporting and Communication:

  • Provide regular reports to Director of Manufacturing on process improvement initiatives, progress, and impact on KPIs as well as challenges and opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support for continuous improvement projects.
  • Change Management: Assist in driving change management efforts by communicating the benefits of improvements to staff and addressing resistance to change.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven track record in continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • The position requires excellent communications and employee relations skills, and the ability to lead and motivate cross functional teams.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (Infor/Siteline would be an asset)
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, concepts, and programs to all levels of the organization providing “leadership” to employees in a constantly changing environment. Hands-on mentality
