CARPENTER - JACKSONVILLE,FL
Purpose of Position
The Carpenter will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining wooden structures and components used in manufacturing processes. This role requires expertise in working with various types of wood, hand tools, and power equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Construction & Fabrication: Build, install, and repair wooden fixtures, parts, and assemblies for use in manufacturing production.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Material Handling: Select, measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment.
- Repairs & Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and modifications on wooden equipment, jigs, and fixtures used in manufacturing processes.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed work to ensure high-quality standards and accuracy in production.
- Collaboration: Work with engineers, production teams, and maintenance staff to support manufacturing needs.
- Inventory Management: Track and manage lumber, tools, and materials to ensure availability for ongoing projects.
- Assist with additional duties as requested by the supervisor.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in using saws, drills, chisels, sanders, and other woodworking tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
- Understanding of different wood types, their properties, and applications.

Environment: Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise, vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.
